The round, expected to close soon, will give the company a valuation of $350 billion, sources told the FT.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anthropic, which makes the popular AI Claude and the equally popular Claude Code, decided to double its funding target due to booming investor interest. Backers in this round are expected to include Sequoia Capital (<a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/01\/18\/sequoia-to-invest-in-anthropic-breaking-vc-taboo-on-backing-rivals-ft\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">which also invests in its rival OpenAI<\/a>), Singapore\u2019s sovereign wealth fund, and investment management firm Coatue, per the FT.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Late last year, it was reported that Anthropic <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/12\/03\/anthropic-hires-lawyers-as-it-preps-for-ipo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hired lawyers <\/a>as a step toward prepping for an IPO that could come sometime this year.
