The news of Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke\u2019s<\/a> separation<\/a> did not come as a shock to avid Summer House watchers, who have seen the duo duke it out in bathing suits, on flamingo pool floaties, and with various flavors of hard seltzer in hand since the show\u2019s first season in 2016. You know who else doesn\u2019t seem all that affected by the impending Bravo divorce? Cooke and Batula, who appeared together with the rest of the cast on Tuesday\u2019s episode<\/a> of SiriusXM\u2019s Front Row and seemed totally chill.<\/p>\n When co-hosts Kiki Monique and Dorinda Medley asked how they were doing since announcing the news, Batula shared that \u201cit\u2019s easier to get along, but we\u2019re good. We talk all the time.\u201d She added, \u201cWe\u2019re both traveling, so I\u2019m watching the dogs, he\u2019s watching the dogs \u2026 We\u2019re co-parenting the dogs together. I still call him if I have questions.\u201d Batula said that she also still calls her ex for help with the smoke alarm in her apartment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n \u201cEvery step we\u2019ve taken, there\u2019s a little bit of, like, a weight has been lifted,\u201d Cooke added of the split. \u201cAnd, ironically, I feel like, this last week, having kind of pressed \u2018post\u2019 [on their separation announcement] together, it felt like we were a little more lighthearted.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, look \u2014 more than anything, I want her to be happy,\u201d he concluded. \u201cI want us both to be happy.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s a lot of laughing and joking for a couple who just ended their four-year marriage and nearly decadelong relationship. Then again, during an interview<\/a> with man-on-the-street Adam Glyn last week, Cooke did confess that he and Batula had been carrying their breakup around for some time like \u201cthe worst-kept secret.\u201d He didn\u2019t clarify when exactly the split took place, but it sounds as though they had plenty of time to process it before last week\u2019s joint Instagram post.<\/p>\n \u201cThis isn\u2019t, like, a big breakup where there\u2019s a smoking gun and there\u2019s a lot of hate. There\u2019s absolutely some frustration \u2026 I\u2019ve done things; she\u2019s done things,\u201d Cooke told Glyn. \u201cBut we\u2019ve got each other\u2019s backs. We care about each other.
