{"id":435694,"date":"2026-01-28T23:06:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T23:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/435694\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T23:06:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T23:06:12","slug":"wnbas-portland-fire-heres-what-every-symbol-in-their-new-pdx-logo-actually-means","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/435694\/","title":{"rendered":"WNBA&#8217;s Portland Fire: Here&#8217;s what every symbol in their new PDX logo actually means"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"HJQEXXW3PZFKLPAQUDHUB4CEOY\">To go along with their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland-fire\/2026\/01\/portland-fire-reveals-home-and-away-jerseys-for-2026-season.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland-fire\/2026\/01\/portland-fire-reveals-home-and-away-jerseys-for-2026-season.html\">jersey announcement<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland-fire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/portland-fire\/\">Portland Fire<\/a> also released a new alternate logo on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"UQIV7LRB7BEM5OFAZJFGWJ4CPM\">The new \u201cPDX\u201d carries forward the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/wnba\/2025\/07\/portland-fire-wnba-expansion-team-unveils-name-logo-for-2026-debut.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.oregonlive.com\/wnba\/2025\/07\/portland-fire-wnba-expansion-team-unveils-name-logo-for-2026-debut.html\">team\u2019s primary \u201cP\u201d logo<\/a>, a news release states. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-gallery-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/A6WJISBLUZGP3JRFQFSRSYZXGQ.png\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-gallery-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/MTGD3VBVQBHYLJBAG4IJ7EVG6M.png\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>1\/5<\/p>\n<p class=\"image-gallery-caption\">Portland Fire alternate logo<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"OJUFT5G5MRGG7HKV6QI35J4OGE\">According to the Portland Fire, the stylized \u201cP\u201d includes a tip at the point as a nod to Mt. Hood and the swooshing right side of the \u201cP\u201d is a subtle rose shape. <\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ALEG76LBOFCODCLDK6CTNINXP4\">The rounded space between the \u201cP\u201d and the \u201cD\u201d is meant to reflect the flow of the Willamette River. The bottom of the \u201cD\u201d comes to a point, signifying \u201cPDX as a well-known point of arrival, and the team\u2019s arrival to the market in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Q5ZRGPLXZFCFTAHBCWI2QURH4U\">The \u201cX\u201d mixes a side with a serif with and a side without a serif.
