\n\tRay J<\/a> has revealed that he only has months left to live after being hospitalized for a severe case of pneumonia earlier in January.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cOne Wish\u201d singer took to his Instagram<\/a> on Jan. 25 to share an update on his health<\/a> after he \u201calmost died.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was in the hospital. My heart\u2019s only beating, like, 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be alright,\u201d he said. \u201cSo thank you for all your prayers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Ray J later admitted in the video that his health is still \u201cnot OK,\u201d he added that he\u2019s appreciative of those standing by his side during this time: \u201cThank you to my mom, [sister]\u00a0Brandy, and my dad, and everybody for helping me through.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere, in a separate Instagram livestream<\/a> that\u2019s been reposted on X, the \u201cSexy Can I\u201d artist offered more details on his current health status. He shared that doctors told him that he only has a short time to live.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c2027 is definitely a wrap for me,\u201d Ray J said before adding in another clip, \u201cI fucked my heart up on the right side, right here. It\u2019s, like, black. It\u2019s like done.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cI fucked up. You know why? Because I think I thought I had more weight. I thought I was a big n***a, so I could handle all the alcohol. I could handle all the Adderall. I could handle all the drugs. I could handle everything, but I couldn\u2019t. My shit fucked up. And it curbed my time here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer added that he was drinking \u201cfour or five bottles a day\u201d and taking \u201c10 Addies\u201d at a time at the height of his drug and alcohol usage. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Ain\u2019t nothing happening to me? Fuck it. I\u2019m indestructible,’\u201d he said. \u201cJoke\u2019s on me. Take care of yourselves, y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRay J gained prominence in the early 2000s after releasing some R&B hits as well as starring in the reality TV shows Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood and For the Love of Ray J. He was later at the center of controversy following the release of his and then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian\u2019s sex tape in 2007.<\/p>\n

\n\tA few months prior to being hospitalized with pneumonia, Kardashian and her mother,\u00a0Kris Jenner,\u00a0hit the singer with a defamation lawsuit<\/a> in October 2025 after he suggested on a livestream video that the two were involved in an illegal criminal enterprise and were about to be under federal indictment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRay J was also arrested in Los Angeles<\/a> on Thanksgiving for a reported domestic dispute.<\/p>\n
