A\u2019zion was initially set to play Zoe Gutierrez in Deep Cuts, a love story set in the 2000s. A24 is producing the film.<\/p>\n

A\u2019zion is Jewish but was originally going to play a Mexican character in the film. She stated that she originally auditioned for another character in the movie but was cast as Zoe Gutierrez instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cTHANK YOU, guys, for bringing this to my attention. I AGREE WITH EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI went in for Percy, but was offered Zoe instead and instantly said yes. I hadn\u2019t read the book and should have paid more attention to all aspects of Zoe before accepting.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, once she had more information about the character she was going to play in the film, she realized it was a bad casting choice.<\/p>\n
