\n\tAs LGBTQ<\/a> romantasy fans await more Heated Rivalry<\/a> and Red, White & Royal Blue, Taylor Zakhar Perez<\/a> sees the similarities in the franchises.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor, who plays the U.S. president\u2019s son Alex Claremont-Diaz in Prime Video\u2019s upcoming Red, White & Royal Wedding, admitted he\u2019s \u201cseen a few episodes\u201d of the Crave\/HBO Max series adaptation of Rachel Reid\u2019s Game Changers books.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI haven\u2019t really thought about it,\u201d he told GQ<\/a> of whether the show\u2019s success made him think of his own hit movie adaptation of Casey McQuiston\u2019s 2019 book. \u201cI saw a lot of the same elements of Red, White in Heated Rivalry. I think they work so well because it wasn\u2019t just about sex, it was so much about intimacy\u2014and we crave intimacy because it\u2019s a lot less fleeting than sex is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPerez added, \u201cI think they told a really beautiful story over a long period of time. That made it very universal. Anyone can watch it and relate to that type of longing that you have for somebody\u2014maybe it\u2019s like a forbidden love\u2014and what you have to do to either overcome that hurdle or just crash into each other and say yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe sequel to Red, White & Royal Blue was first announced<\/a> in May 2024, with Perez teasing that he expects to begin filming<\/a> in 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, after Heated Rivalry was renewed for Season 2<\/a>, creator Jacob Tierney told Deadline that it will be based on<\/a> The Long Game, the only other current book in the series that focuses on Ilya and Shane (Reid\u2019s Unrivaled<\/a> resumes the story on Sept. 29).
