The\u00a0National Weather Service\u00a0is warning residents of heavy snow across much of the\u00a0Carolinas\u00a0and parts of southern\u00a0Virginia\u00a0as early as Friday night.<\/p>\n
February\u2019s full\u00a0moon\u00a0is only a few days away, and this moon is a special one for stargazers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It\u2019s known as the\u00a0Snow\u00a0Moon because of the heavy snowfall that occurs in February across the U.S.\u00a0 Getty Images<\/p>\n
The storm system will also likely produce gusty\u00a0winds,\u00a0which will overlap with the snowfall, creating reduced visibility and causing\u00a0travel\u00a0difficulties.<\/p>\n
According to the FOX Forecast Center, during full and new moon phases, the\u00a0moon\u00a0is aligned with the\u00a0sun, creating higher high tides and lower low tides. <\/p>\n
These are called\u00a0spring tides.\u00a0<\/p>\n
