Tim Burton remembered \u201cspecial\u201d Catherine O\u2019Hara with a touching tribute following her shocking death<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cCatherine, I love you,\u201d Burton, 67, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Friday. \u201cThis picture shows how much light you gave to all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were a special part of my life and after life,\u201d the filmmaker concluded.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis picture shows how much light you gave to all of us,\u201d Burton wrote alongside a behind-the-scenes photo from \u201cBeetlejuice Beetlejuice.\u201d Instagram\/@timburton<\/p>\n

In the post, he shared a behind-the-scenes photo from his \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d sequel, \u201cBeetlejuice Beetlejuice,\u201d which showed him posing with O\u2019Hara, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega.<\/p>\n

In addition to starring in Burton\u2019s original 1988 cult classic and its 2024 sequel, O\u2019Hara also lent her voice to the director\u2019s animated films, \u201cThe Nightmare Before Christmas\u201d and \u201cFrankenweenie.\u201d<\/p>\n

The director joins the list of stars, including Macaulay Culkin<\/a>, Michael Keaton<\/a>, and her \u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek\u201d co-stars<\/a> Eugene and Dan Levy, in mourning the Emmy winner\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara died on Jan. 30 following a short battle with an undisclosed illness<\/a>, according to a statement shared with Page Six from the Creative Artists Agency. She was 71.<\/p>\n

\u201cProlific multi-award-winning actress, writer and comedian Catherine O\u2019Hara died today at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness,\u201d the agency said. <\/p>\n

O\u2019Hara struggled with situs inversus, a rare condition in which the arrangement of the internal organs is a mirror image of normal anatomy,\u00a0according to the National Institutes of Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the hours before her death, the actress was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital<\/a> in \u201cserious condition.\u201d <\/p>\n

As Page Six previously reported, paramedics responded to a call for medical aid at the \u201cHome Alone\u201d star\u2019s Brentwood home at 4:48 a.m. <\/p>\n

According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Page Six, O\u2019Hara experienced \u201cbreathing difficulty\u201d<\/a> in her final hours. <\/p>\n

On Saturday, the star\u2019s family revealed their plans to hold a \u201cprivate celebration of life\u201d<\/a> for her. O\u2019Hara is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bo Welch, and sons Matthew and Luke.<\/p>\n
