These days we\u2019re used to hearing about price increases, but in the case of amiibo, it looks like there\u2019s a bit of a cut happening.<\/p>\n

For now the news seems to be for three specific upcoming figures. First, for Meta Knight\u2019s Kirby Air Riders amiibo, this was initially priced at $49.99, but is now down to $44.99. We also know that Mario will soon have his own figure along with Rosalina for Super Mario Galaxy. They were initially set at $39.99, but have dropped to $34.99.<\/p>\n

Basically, you\u2019re saving $5 here. The new prices have been reflected at major retailers like Amazon<\/a>, Best Buy<\/a>, and GameStop<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Back in August, Nintendo announced price increases for several products (we have the full list here<\/a>). Not much was spared as even amiibo were getting a price hike. It\u2019s interesting to see then that Nintendo is going the other way \u2013 even if it\u2019s a bit, every dollar saved helps the consumer.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen what amiibo pricing will look like in the future. But it\u2019s worth noting that with the Super Mario Bros. Wonder amiibo (which you can pre-order here<\/a>), they\u2019ll be $25 a piece \u2013 cheaper than the Metroid Prime 4 ones of $30 (the one with Viola was $35 which makes sense given the size).\u00a0<\/p>\n
