This stat might sum up Lonzo Ball’s nightmare shooting season for the Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> more than anything else:<\/p>\n

On a given night, there are 450 active roster players in the NBA. Ball ranks 460th in the NBA in shooting percentage.<\/p>\n

The reason this is even possible, if it’s not clear, is that different players can appear over the course of the season due to injuries, G League call-ups and other transactional reasons.<\/p>\n

But, um, 29% from the field isn’t good. Neither is 26.9% from 3-point range.<\/p>\n

Ball was never on the floor for his shooting at any point of his career. But this is a new low, even for him.<\/p>\n

He’s shooting so poorly that any advantages his team might gain from his playmaking and his defensive length are entirely negated because he can’t put the ball in the basket.<\/p>\n

The Cavs thought they were making a good trade when they got Ball in the offseason from the Chicago Bulls<\/a> for Isaac Okoro.<\/p>\n

Turns out, Cleveland had no way of knowing that Ball’s shooting would fall off an absolute cliff. He’s become pretty much unplayable.<\/p>\n

Craig Porter Jr. has taken over backup point guard duties behind Darius Garland, and unless Ball turns it around, it’ll be tough for him to get meaningful minutes going forward.<\/p>\n
