NEW ORLEANS \u2014 A huge water main break was reported Uptown Saturday evening, prompting a precautionary boil water advisory as the Sewerage and Water Board investigates.<\/p>\n
The break was reported near Panola Street and Fern Street, and viewers say flooding extends to the 2000 block of Carrollton Avenue.<\/p>\n
SWBNO with the Louisiana Department of Health, has\u00a0issued a precautionary boil water advisory parts of Uptown<\/a> after water pressure dropped below 20 psi due to a 48-inch water main break near Carrollton Avenue and Panola Street, a release said.<\/p>\n Precautionary boil water advisory (BWA) for a large portion of Uptown New Orleans, which includes:<\/p>\n Carrollton Ave from I-10 (Pontchartrain Expressway) to Mississippi RiverI-10 (Pontchartrain Expressway) from Carrollton Ave to Mississippi RiverMississippi River from Carrollton to Pontchartrain Expressway. <\/p>\n Residents in the affected area should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, cleaning food, and brushing teeth until further notice.
