There\u2019s still hope for an Aaron Rodgers Steelers return.<\/p>\n

Steelers beat reporter Mark Kaboly said this week that he expects the future Hall of Fame quarterback to be wearing yellow and black next season.<\/p>\n

That is, if he plans to continue his NFL career.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he will be their starting quarterback unless he comes to some kind of decision over the next month that he\u2019s just done with football 100 percent,\u201d Kaboly said during an appearance on 93.7 The Fan, according to Steelers Depot<\/a>. \u201cThis is him basically saying he\u2019s coming back without him admitting he\u2019s coming back. What I\u2019ve heard a lot is they\u2019re expecting him to come back. \u2026 They are under the impression that he still wants to play.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I\u2019ve heard a lot is they\u2019re expecting him to come back,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey are under the impression that he still wants to play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rodgers, 42, has been chatting with Mike McCarthy<\/a> since he was hired by Pittsburgh to be the franchise\u2019s next head coach last Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have spoken to Aaron Rodgers a number of times,\u201d McCarthy said on \u201cThe Pat McAfee Show\u201d on Friday. \u201cLike anybody that has played the game for a long time, it\u2019s important to get away, so that\u2019s a normal process. I think it\u2019s important for all these players to decompress and step away after the season, and that\u2019s really the mindset he\u2019s in.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s really about as far as our conversations have gone as if he\u2019s coming back or not coming back.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCarthy said during his introductory press conference that he would welcome the four-time NFL MVP back for a 23rd season in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cDefinitely, I don\u2019t see why you wouldn\u2019t,\u201d McCarthy said in response to a question asking if he would want Rodgers as his signal-caller in 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rodgers and McCarthy spent 11 seasons together in Green Bay, winning the 2011 Super Bowl.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last season, Rodgers threw for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 16 games.<\/p>\n

After the Steelers were eliminated with a 30-6 loss to the Texans in the wild-card round, Rodgers declined to talk about retirement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to make any emotional decisions,\u201d Rodgers said. \u201cAt this point, obviously such a fun year. A lot of adversity, but a lot of fun.
