\n\tJulia Garner<\/a> is sharing an update on the Madonna<\/a> biopic, in which \u201cThe Fantastic Four: First Steps\u201d star is set to play the seven-time Grammy winner.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a recent interview on the \u201cSmartLess<\/a>\u201d podcast, Garner said she\u2019s still locked in to star in the film, which will be directed by Madonna herself.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s supposed to still happen,\u201d Garner said of the film, adding that she\u2019s \u201csuch a fan of Madonna\u201d and that she \u201cgrew up listening\u201d to her music.<\/p>\n

\n\tGarner said landing the starring role \u201cjust came about\u201d naturally. Once she heard about the project following the pop superstar, she knew she had to audition.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI kind of just wanted to see if I could do it, because I wasn\u2019t a trained dancer and I had to learn how to dance and then dance in front of her and convince her that I can dance, basically, and sing,\u201d Garner explained. \u201cAnd sing with her!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe then detailed her audition prep, which included asking herself, \u201cOK, what would Madonna do? Which is convince you that she deserves, you know, to be in this room, and I owned it. I was kind of like, \u2018You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it, if I leave, then that\u2019s on you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGarner said fans shouldn\u2019t worry about the film\u2019s delay, assuring that \u201canything that\u2019s great\u2026takes a long time.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe update gives life to the biopic after it was thought to be scrapped<\/a>, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the project.
