STANFORD, Calif. \u2013 No. 3 Stanford men\u2019s tennis wrapped up its six-game homestand to open the spring schedule with six wins, downing No. 22 USC, 4-1, at Arrillaga Tennis Center-Taube Pavilion.<\/p>\n
The sweep of USC and UCLA is the second in a row for Stanford, which posted a road sweep a year ago in Los Angeles. Stanford improves to 70-79 all-time against USC, and it has reached 30 consecutive wins on The Farm dating back to April 7, 2023.<\/p>\n
Stanford earned the doubles point with wins on courts two and three to take an early lead. Samir Banerjee<\/a> and Mark Krupkin<\/a> scored a 6-1 win on court three, while Alex Chang<\/a> and Jagger Leach<\/a> clinched the advantage with a 6-3 result in the second position.<\/p>\n USC managed to tie the match with a win on court one, but Krupkin gave Stanford back the lead on court six with a 6-3, 7-6 (6) victory on court six. Moments after Krupkin\u2019s win, Leach completed his comeback in three sets with a 6-0 showing in the decisive set on court four, extending the Cardinal advantage to 3-1.<\/p>\n Hudson Rivera<\/a> clinched the match in a tiebreaker on court three, taking the match in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (3).<\/p>\n Stanford hits the road for the first time on Friday, Feb. 6 at No. 25 Pepperdine.
