Idol\u2018s Feb. 2 episode<\/a>, though, Bateman\u2019s sole focus was advocating for her niece, of whom she said, \u201cShe is music. She radiates music out of her pores.\u201d<\/p>\nMartin was grateful for Bateman\u2019s support, telling the cameras, \u201cBritani has always been a very big mentor to me to get out there. She has her own spotlight. She\u2019s living out her dream. That\u2019s why I\u2019m here too.\u201d <\/p>\n
On RHOSLC, Bateman has become known for tapping her glass and making announcements of varying import. She channeled that energy on Idol when she walked into the audition with a wine glass, which she tapped with a knife before declaring, \u201cI have an announcement!\u201d<\/p>\n
Before making her announcement, though, Bateman questioned judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you know me?\u201d she asked. \u201cI\u2019m Britani. Britani Bateman.\u201d<\/p>\n
The judges were clearly not familiar, as crickets were the only response to Bateman\u2019s inquiry. The reality star didn\u2019t let her deter her, and instead turned the focus to her niece.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not about me,\u201d Bateman said. \u201cThis is about my amazing, gorgeous, perfect niece who you\u2019re about to hear. It\u2019s insane.\u201d <\/p>\n
Underwood couldn\u2019t continue the moment without quipping, \u201cIf we don\u2019t have good things to say she has a knife. She has a weapon.\u201d <\/p>\n

Regardless, the audition continued on with Martin performing Ty Myers\u2019 \u201cThought It Was Love\u201d on the piano. <\/p>\n
Afterwards, Underwood complimented Marin\u2019s \u201creally pretty\u201d voice and \u201creally great\u201d range, but encouraged the singer to employ more \u201coomph\u201d in her songs.<\/p>\n
Martin decided to do just that by performing another song, Smash\u2018s \u201cLet Me Be Your Star,\u201d alongside her famous aunt.<\/p>\n
\u201cRuns in the family!\u201d Underwood proclaimed after the performance. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe just gotta get you to cut loose a little bit,\u201d Bryan said. \u201cI think the piano is forcing you to be very proper.\u201d<\/p>\n
Next, Richie noted, \u201cI think the only way she\u2019s going to understand this thing called roughing up is to put her in a brawl. The only way to put you in a brawl is to say yes, so you can go to the next level and meet the rest of this crazy class.\u201d<\/p>\n
Underwood agreed, stating, \u201cI think your voice has definitely earned you a yes, but I want to see some fire.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cI can show it,\u201d Martin assured. <\/p>\n
Taking Bateman\u2019s knife and glass, Bryan made an announcement of his own: Martin had secured her Golden Ticket to Hollywood Week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think today I played it really safe,\u201d Martin told the cameras, \u201cbut they will see the fire inside me and they will see me roar.\u201d <\/p>\n
