Queen Camilla is seizing power in the U.K. as she takes advantage of the cancer-stricken state of monarch husband King Charles \u2014 and no one in Britain\u2019s royal household is safe from her reign of terror, sources say.<\/p>\n

\u201cCamilla is horrendously controlling of Charles. She often insists he stay in his room and raises merry hell if he tries to get up and assert his independence,\u201d an insider confides.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, her official excuse for this is that he needs rest and she\u2019s doing it for his own good. But everyone knows it\u2019s her way to control him and give herself a platform to assert herself when he\u2019s not there.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Globe previously reported, Buckingham Palace revealed in February 2024 that the king was battling an undisclosed form of cancer that some say is incurable.<\/p>\n

By December 2025, weary-looking Charles, 77, insisted<\/a> his treatments would be scaled back this year, crediting medical advances in fighting the potentially deadly disease.<\/p>\n

Camilla, who waited decades to marry Charles and wear a crown, took on more responsibilities<\/a> when her ailing husband had to pare down his busy schedule because of his health.<\/p>\n

However, sources say the king\u2019s former mistress turned queen now refuses to stop throwing her weight around \u2014 even as Charles claims his condition has improved.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe charges around barking orders, tearing into anyone who doesn\u2019t fall into line and generally causing chaos throughout the palace,\u201d the insider explains. \u201cHer drinking has always been an issue, but lately she\u2019s been taking it up a level. Camilla is hitting the bottle hard and is usually three sheets to the wind by evening. Often, she\u2019ll be knocking it back during the daytime as well. That\u2019s when she tends to be at her most aggressive \u2014 overexerting herself and acting like a power-crazed tyrant.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Globe also reported, sources say Charles had brokered a deal with heir Prince William \u2014 allowing his oldest son to banish younger brother Prince Harry in exchange for allowing his beloved Camilla to maintain a life of lavish luxury and respect after his death.<\/p>\n

Yet, palace watchers say California-based Harry, 41, now appears to be on the verge of returning to the royal fold after having a reconciliatory tea with his father in September.<\/p>\n

Insiders also believe that when William, 43, ascends to the throne, he would have no qualms about casting out his stepmother \u2014 whose decades-long affair with Charles contributed to the end of the king\u2019s marriage to the princes\u2019 late mother, Princess Diana \u2014 especially because of how Camilla humiliates his wife and future queen, Princess Kate, 44.<\/p>\n

\u201cCamilla isn\u2019t afraid to put Kate in her place any chance she gets,\u201d the insider notes. \u201cThe way she talks to her can be pretty brutal \u2014 looking down her nose and effectively treating her like a second-class commoner or menial servant.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, sources say Camilla, 78, is keeping a close eye on her husband\u2019s efforts to lure back Harry and his American wife, 44-year-old Meghan, who ceased being working royals in 2020 and put down roots in Montecito, Calif., where they\u2019re raising their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.<\/p>\n

The insider maintains Camilla won\u2019t forgive the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their verbal attacks against the royal family and says she\u2019s \u201cworking hard\u201d to ensure \u201closers\u201d Harry and Meghan are not allowed back to the U.K.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s told Charles it\u2019s a terrible idea and is chipping away to get him to rescind the invite,\u201d the insider says. \u201cIf they do turn up, she\u2019s vowing to make life as difficult and uncomfortable as possible while they\u2019re in England.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut in an ideal world she\u2019ll just put a stop to it altogether. She emphatically believes Meghan and Harry are treacherous, twisted rats who have no place in the royal household.\u201d<\/p>\n
