\n\tTake-Two Interactive<\/a> revealed it is pausing development on its Nintendo Switch 2 edition of \u201cBorderlands 4<\/a>\u201d in its latest quarterly earnings results Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe title\u2019s Switch 2 release was removed from Take-Two\u2019s chart of upcoming games (where it was previously listed as having a \u201cTBA\u201d release date), which prominently features Rockstar Games\u2019 \u201cGrand Theft Auto 6\u201d debut on Nov. 19, along with \u201cWWE 2K26\u201d (March 13) and several undated projects, like the next \u201cBioShock\u201d game.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe made the difficult decision to pause development on that SKU,\u201d Take-Two spokesperson Alan Lewis told Variety. \u201cOur focus continues to be delivering quality post-launch content for players on the ongoing improvements to optimize the game. We\u2019re continuing to collaborate closely with our friends at Nintendo. We have \u2018PGA Tour 2K25\u2019 coming out and \u2018WWE 2K26\u2019 [for Switch 2], and we\u2019re incredibly excited about bringing more of our titles to that platform in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tRecently, Take-Two\u2019s Rockstar Games pulled user-created content from \u201cGTA Online<\/a>\u201d that featured a depiction of the assassination of Charlie Kirk<\/a>. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick<\/a> spoke out about the situation in an interview with Variety tied to earnings results on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen content violates our terms of service, we aggressively act, as we did in this instance,\u201d Zelnick said. \u201cI actually am incredibly impressed with this company, on the one hand, it appropriately enables users to engage \u2014 hat\u2019s why we are in the role-playing service business, for example \u2014 and we have other areas where consumers can engage. At the same time, the safety of our consumers is of paramount importance. So this is not an area where I have to say, like, \u2018Oh, you know, it\u2019s a gray area. Judgment is required.\u2019 No. Terms of Service were violated, that\u2019s end of discussion, thank you very much.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tZelnick also addressed online rumors that have spread about the possibility of Rockstar delaying the release of physical copies of \u201cGTA 6\u201d until 2027, in order to avoid leaks of the game, which will debut Nov. 19. \u201cThat\u2019s not the plan,\u201d the Take-Two chief said.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn its Tuesday earnings, Take-Two announced that \u201cGTA 6\u2019s\u201d more-than-decade-old predecessor, \u201cGTA 5,\u201d has now crossed 225 million copies sold to date.<\/p>\n

\n\tTake-Two reported $1.76 billion in net bookings for the November-December 2025 quarter. GAAP net loss was $929.9 million, or a loss of 50 cents per share, compared to the previous year\u2019s $125.2 million loss (71 cents per share). <\/p>\n
