But now, it\u2019ll be difficult for her to overlook it. The Nope alum recently shared how she learned fans have been mispronouncing the \u201cHello\u201d singer\u2019s first name wrong for years. <\/p>\n

\u201cLionel Richie and [I] were kicking back with our feet up sipping so much tea, I was hoping the mics weren\u2019t catching what we were throwing down,\u201d Keke, 32, recalled during her Feb. 3 interview<\/a> on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. \u201cHe was talking about himself. He was like, \u2018You know\u2026\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n

Before the 76-year-old\u2014who shares kids Nicole Richie<\/a>, 44, with ex-wife Brenda Harvey, as well as Miles Richie<\/a>, 31, and Sofia Richie<\/a>, 27, with Diane Alexander\u2014could finish his sentence, someone interrupted him by saying his first name. Specifically, they pronounced it as lye-nell instead of lye-nol, and Keke was shocked to hear that inflection. <\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018Now, wait a minute. This whole time, you ain\u2019t been Lye-nol Richie? You\u2019ve been Lye-nell?\u2019\u201d she jokingly recalled. \u201cSo then I had to act like I knew. I was like, \u2018Oh, Lye-nell!\u2019 So me and Lionel are thick as thieves. That\u2019s my new bestie, y\u2019all!\u201d <\/p>\n
