Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports<\/a> labeled the Steelers as a team to watch for Murray, and projects that he could be acquired in exchange for a second-round pick.<\/p>\n\u201cAs CBS Sports\u2019 Joel Corry notes, Murray\u2019s situation will need to come to a head before March 15th (the fifth day of the 2026 league year), as that\u2019s when his $19.7 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed,\u201d Sullivan writes. \u201cWith that in mind, this potential trade could come together early in the offseason. Another factor that could drive a Murray trade is that the quarterback class at the 2026\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0isn\u2019t particularly strong, so teams may be more inclined to target a veteran like Murray. As for a possible return, the Seahawks secured a third-round pick in exchange for\u00a0Geno Smith\u00a0a year ago. When healthy, Murray is a much more talented quarterback, so the\u00a0Cardinals\u00a0should be looking at an earlier Day 2 pick in the form of a second-rounder.\u201d<\/p>\n
Murray has missed significant time in two of the previous three seasons due to injury. He played in just five games in 2025, throwing six touchdowns to three interceptions and going 2-3 in those five games.<\/p>\n
Murray is a two-time Pro Bowl selection, earning nods in 2020 and 2021, the latter of which was the only season he has led Arizona to the postseason.<\/p>\n
