Jisoo has a lot more on her agenda than just the release of Blackpink\u2019s new album<\/a>. She\u2019s also set to star in Netflix\u2019s upcoming Korean romantic comedy series Boyfriend on Demand. The show will be directed by Kim Jung-sik (Work Later, Drink Now; No Gain No Love) and written by first-time screenwriter Namgung Do-Young.<\/p>\n

What is Boyfriend on Demand about?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the official synopsis, per Netflix<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Exhausted webtoon producer Mi-rae escapes reality through a subscription-based virtual dating simulation program, where she meets the boyfriends of her dreams.<\/p>\n

As Jisoo described it in a statement, \u201cThe series will let viewers vicariously experience exciting romance through the characters. I think it will be a fun treat for anyone who feels worn down by the monotony of everyday life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who is in the cast?<\/p>\n

Jisoo stars as Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who looks for love in virtual reality with a \u201cMonthly Boyfriend\u201d subscription service.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a story about someone who wants romance and dopamine but keeps running into real-world problems, and gradually grows through that process,\u201d Jisoo told Zapzee<\/a>, a Korean entertainment platform. \u201cIt is a lively romantic comedy with lots to enjoy visually, and I think it can give viewers that fluttering feeling by proxy\u2014especially for anyone exhausted by the repetition of everyday life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seo In-guk (Doom at Your Service, Caf\u00e9 Minamdang) plays Park Kyeong-nam, her colleague who may or may not become involved in her quest for love.<\/p>\n
