It seems the latest Hollywood beef is between Mark Ruffalo and Kevin O\u2019Leary.<\/p>\n
The Oscar-nominated actor, who has been very outspoken against Donald Trump and his aggressive immigration policies, took to Threads<\/a> on Thursday to defend Grammy winner Billie Eilish, who used her acceptance speech on Sunday as an opportunity to slam ICE<\/a>.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/p>\n \u201cKevin O\u2019Leary why don\u2019t you STFU. It\u2019s astounding the fantasy double standard Kevin O\u2019Leary lives in.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou played yourself well in Marty Supreme,\u201d he added, referring to O\u2019Leary\u2019s role in the Josh Safdie-directed film, which saw him play Milton Rockwell, a cutthroat 1950s businessman and main antagonist.<\/p>\n Ruffalo\u2019s remarks were specifically in response to the businessman and Shark Tank star\u2019s recent warning to the \u201cWildflower\u201d singer and other celebrities who decide to get political on a public stage.<\/p>\n \u201cHalf the people in politics that you piss off won\u2019t buy your music anymore,\u201d O\u2019Leary said on Fox News\u2019 America Reports<\/a> on Tuesday. \u201cDon\u2019t be stupid about it, but hey, they don\u2019t listen.\u201d<\/p>\n He added, \u201cIt\u2019s the first lesson 101 for celebrity: As you rise up, whether you\u2019re a film star, a music star [or] whatever, shut your mouth and just entertain.\u201d<\/p>\n On Sunday at the 2026 Grammys, Eilish used her time onstage after winning song of the year for \u201cWildflower\u201d to speak out against the Trump administration\u2019s intense and controversial immigration enforcement. She also wore an \u201cICE OUT<\/a>\u201d pin\u00a0on her outfit.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel so honored every time I get to be in this room,\u201d she said in part. \u201cAnd, as grateful as I feel, I honestly don\u2019t feel like I need to say anything, but that no one is illegal on stolen land. \u2026 It\u2019s just really hard to know what to say and what to do right now, and I feel really hopeful in this room.\u201d<\/p>\n Eilish then went on to urge the public to \u201ckeep fighting and speaking up and protesting,\u201d before yelling, \u201cFuck\u00a0ICE<\/a>,\u201d which was bleeped on the CBS telecast.<\/p>\n Bad Bunny<\/a>, Shaboozey and\u00a0Olivia Dean<\/a>\u00a0were among other artists at the ceremony to make anti-ICE comments.<\/p>\n Ruffalo wasn\u2019t the only star that has come to Eilish\u2019s defense, as her brother, Finneas\u00a0O\u2019Connell,\u00a0also took to social media <\/a>recently to clap back at haters.<\/p>\n \u201cSeeing a lot of very powerful old white men outraged about what my 24 year old sister said during her acceptance speech,\u201d O\u2019Connell wrote on Threads. \u201cWe can literally see your names in the Epstein files.\u201d<\/p>\n Best of The Hollywood Reporter<\/p>\n Sign up for THR’s Newsletter<\/a>.
