Darian DeVries and his staff are intent on landing one of the top point guards in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n
They\u2019re pursuing 5-star and No. 5 ranked Jordan Smith, Jr., 4-star and No. 15 ranked Tay Kinney, and 4-star and No. 17 ranked Deron Rippey.<\/p>\n
Add to that list 5-star point guard Dylan Mingo.<\/p>\n
Mingo told national 247Sports analyst Brandon Jenkins Indiana is one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.<\/a>\u00a0 IU assistant coach Rod Clark appears to be leading the charge for Indiana.<\/p>\n The 6-foot-5 Mingo is a 5-star according to the national averages of the recruiting sites.\u00a0 He\u2019s the No. 7 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 1 point guard.\u00a0 He attends Long Island Lutheran H.S. in New York, a school that plays a national schedule.<\/p>\n Mingo was named the MVP of the recent NBPA Top-100 camp.\u00a0 His highlights from that event, along with his junior year high school highlights are below.<\/p>\n For travel basketball he plays for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL Circuit.\u00a0 He\u2019s averaging 19.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists this spring and summer.<\/p>\n Kinney and Rippey already have IU visits scheduled, and now the staff will continue to work on getting Mingo and Smith to Bloomington.\u00a0 Landing one of them would be a major win for a staff recruiting before their first season.<\/p>\n For a complete recap of Indiana\u2019s 2026 through 2028 targets, GO HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
