Kid Rock broke his silence on social media Thursday on the heels of he and Turning Point USA taking heat for the lyrics to his song \u201cCool, Daddy Cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rock is scheduled to headline TPUSA\u2019s Super Bowl LX \u201cAll-American Halftime Show\u201d on Sunday in what is being billed as a Christian and family friendly alternative to the NFL\u2019s halftime show featuring Bad Bunny.<\/p>\n
JD Vance shared a TPUSA post on X about the show and wrote, \u201cFantastic lineup for the TPUSA halftime show, including the great Bob Ritchie AKA KID ROCK.\u201d<\/p>\n
The lineup for the show \u2014 Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett are scheduled to join Rock on the bill \u2014 has been widely trolled outside of the MAGA world, but things went to another level after folks remembered the singer\u2019s 2001 song.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s the issue with \u201cCool, Daddy Cool\u201d?<\/p>\n
Well, the lyrics are something else, but Verse 3 is the real problem for Rock.<\/p>\n
\u201cYoung ladies, young ladies, I like \u2018em underage,\u201d Rock sings on the track. \u201cSee some say that\u2019s statutory.\u201d<\/p>\n
His sidekick at the time, the late Joe-C then chimes in, \u201cBut I say it\u2019s mandatory.\u201d<\/p>\n
It has not been pretty for Rock since Parker Molloy reshared Vance\u2019s post and shared the lyrics to X and wrote, \u201cMaybe he\u2019ll play this one!\u201d<\/p>\n
Rock\u2019s response? Well, he didn\u2019t directly address the controversy, but he did post a meme on X claiming to show a Kobe Bryant quote that was titled, \u201cMamba Mentality.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cLearn to love the hate,\u201d it read. \u201cEmbrace it. Enjoy it. You earned it. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and everyone should have one about you. Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones.\u201d<\/p>\n
Many of the responses were not kind to the singer.<\/p>\n
