He smiles, and throws his head back with relief: \u201cNo cancer signal detected,\u201d he reads, just as his son climbs in.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This scene appears in a Super Bowl ad that telehealth company Hims &amp; Hers will run this weekend. Last year, Hims ran a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2025\/01\/28\/super-bowl-ad-hims-and-hers-telehealth-company-downplays-risks-compounded-drugs\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">controversial game-time clip<\/a> promoting the company\u2019s weight loss medications to more than 100 million viewers. This time, it\u2019s using part of its minute-long slot to market one of its latest offerings: a multi-cancer early detection test called Galleri.<\/p>\n<p>Grail, the test\u2019s developer, has faced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2024\/04\/07\/grail-galleri-cancer-blood-test-liquid-biopsy-who-aacr\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">many<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statnews.com\/2024\/06\/24\/grail-liquid-biopsy-cancer-nasdaq-challenges\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hurdles<\/a> as it has worked to validate and market its blood-based test for detecting dozens of tumor types.
