It\u2019s actually one movie split into two from <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/paramount\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paramount\" data-tag=\"paramount\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paramount<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/republic-pictures\/\" id=\"auto-tag_republic-pictures\" data-tag=\"republic-pictures\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Republic Pictures<\/a> label and <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/aaron-kaplan\/\" id=\"auto-tag_aaron-kaplan\" data-tag=\"aaron-kaplan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aaron Kaplan<\/a>\u2018s Kapital Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOne Mile\u00a0was written by John Hlavin based on an idea by Kaplan\u2019s daughter, Jaiden Kaplan, with rewrites by TJ Brady and Rasheed Newson who worked on Kapital\u2019s Showtime series\u00a0The Chi. In the film, when an estranged father (Phillippe) and daughter (Hoeferle) go off for college tours, they get more than they bargained for when they get lost and stumble across a hostile, off-the-grid community. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tPer the official synopsis: An ex-special forces operative (Phillippe) goes off-the-grid when his daughter (Hoeferle) is kidnapped by a violent community. Alone and outnumbered, he\u2019s forced to use every skill he has to track them down, take them apart, and bring his daughter home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThese guys don\u2019t know it yet, but they messed with the wrong dad,\u201d Phillippe\u2019s Danny says at one point in the trailer. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCast also includes C. Thomas Howell,\u00a0Richard Harmon,\u00a0Sara Canning and\u00a0Sage Linder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tJaiden Kaplan came up with the idea for\u00a0One Mile\u00a0while she and her dad were on a college tour in the Northeast in 2019 and were driving on a particularly desolate highway surrounded by woods on one side and half-frozen lakes on the other. Jaiden Kaplan served as a producer on the film. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOne Mile is directed and produced by Adam Davidson. Phillippe and Davidson produce alongside Jaiden Kaplan.
