The former cohost of The View<\/a> criticized the daytime talk landscape in a scathing X post<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n “The reason all these daytime talk shows are being canceled is because they are sublimely boring and all the hosts want to be loved,” the daughter of the late John McCain wrote.<\/p>\n Charles Sykes\/Bravo via Getty <\/p>\n Though she didn’t mention them by name, McCain is almost certainly referring to The Kelly Clarkson Show<\/a> and Sherri<\/a>, which both announced on Monday that they would end at the conclusion of their current seasons.<\/p>\n Kelly Clarkson<\/a>‘s show will wrap its run<\/a> after seven seasons, while Sherri Shepherd<\/a>‘s program is finishing after four seasons<\/a>. Both shows will continue production as planned and will air their final episodes in the fall.<\/p>\n McCain went on to share her personal favorite daytime talk show host of all time.<\/p>\n “Wendy Williams was the GOAT because she said the quiet things we all were thinking out loud,” she wrote. “She was messy, raw, real and wildly entertaining.”<\/p>\n The Wendy Williams Show aired from 2008 to 2022, and was ultimately replaced by Sherri<\/a> due to Williams’ ongoing health issues.<\/p>\n Johnny Nunez\/WireImage<\/p>\n Clarkson announced that her show would finish its run this year in a heartfelt Instagram post, noting that she decided to end the show herself.<\/p>\n “This was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show,” she wrote. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”<\/p>\n The “Stronger” singer noted that she’s not going anywhere despite the show’s conclusion.<\/p>\n “This isn\u2019t goodbye,” she wrote. “I\u2019ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time \u2026 you never know where I might show up next. But for now, I want to thank y\u2019all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.\u201d<\/p>\n Clarkson’s announcement came just months after the death of Brandon Blackstock<\/a>, her former talent manager and ex-husband, who died Aug. 7 at 48.
