At $599, no other computer matches the performance and value offered by the M4 Mac mini<\/a>, which is why this compact, but exceptionally powerful computer has quickly become a favorite for customers who want to run localized AI agents to simplify their daily tasks. Unfortunately, a surge in orders has created a shortage of this hardware, which will be disappointing given its price hasn\u2019t been affected by the DRAM crisis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The M4 Mac mini\u2019s biggest strength is its architecture, with its tight integration allowing you to run the AI chatbot Maltbot, whereas on other machines, performance bottlenecks would exist<\/p>\n

We have already reported that Apple\u2019s M4 Mac mini was being picked up in droves<\/a>\u00a0thanks to its ability to run Moltbot, formerly known as Clawdbot. According to Korea Economic Daily, the majority of the purchases are concentrated on the base version, which launched for $599, but it can be purchased for as low as $549 on online retailers like Amazon<\/a>. Developed and released in November, Moltbot is gaining popularity thanks to its ability to perform tasks such as summarizing emails and organizing incoming messages.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there are also security concerns due to Moltbot\u2019s nature, which requires access to all applications on the M4 Mac mini, including sensitive data. Thanks to the smaller footprint of Apple\u2019s compact computer, it can be turned into a \u2018mobile\u2019 home data center without needing an internet connection. Additionally, with its unique architecture, which sets it apart from conventional PC parts, the M4 Mac mini can run Moltbot efficiently and lightning-fast.<\/p>\n

Where competing hardware in the same price range would run into performance bottlenecks, the M4 Mac mini thrives when running such apps. Apple has also released an M4 Pro<\/a>\u00a0model of the Mac mini at a much higher price, but this variant is targeted to power users who require more CPU and GPU cores for tackling the more intensive workloads, rather than those wanting to run local AI assistants. An updated version with the M5<\/a>\u00a0is expected to arrive later this year, enhancing its ability to run similar programs.<\/p>\n
