We decided to ask<\/a> people to share their MAGA loved ones’ feelings ahead of what is sure to be one of the most controversial Super Bowl performances yet. Here’s what they had to say:\"Person<\/p>\n

1. “My MAGA father had to call and ask me who Bad Bunny was. Then he started ranting about him wearing a dress, and how terrible it was he was doing the show, and how he refused to watch the game.”<\/p>\n

“I asked my father when the last time he watched a football game was, anyway, and he admitted it has been years. So, I asked why he was upset about it beyond just being racist, and he had nothing to say.”\u2014CatsAreBetterThanPeople<\/a><\/p>\n

2. “My father (who has always lived in a diverse city in a blue state) is very angry about it. He has been vocal about hating everything to do with the Super Bowl halftime show for over a decade now.”<\/p>\n

“If the artist isn’t a white rock and roll star who is past their prime, he has something negative to say about it. He plans to watch TPUSA because he is against everything ‘woke,’ which he claims the halftime show is.”\u2014Anonymous<\/p>\n

3. “My family aren’t even watching the Super Bowl this year… They are that pressed.”<\/p>\n

4. “My mom absolutely hates Bad Bunny when she’s an immigrant herself. I was playing his music in the car and she complained. She said she’s going to watch TPUSA because they are Americans and speak English, but Bad Bunny is more American than her.”<\/p>\n

TPUSA, even though the headliners are not as famous, I want a family-friendly show; one singing in the American official language of English, and frankly, I’m tired of all these alleged stars and Hollywood celebrities preaching to those of us that believe in more traditional values.”<\/p>\n

6. “I\u2019m watching the Super Bowl at my in-laws, and I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen. They are Republicans who used to support Trump, though I think it was because he was the republican candidate, not because they are MAGA.”<\/p>\n

“They have stopped talking about him entirely for many months now. They are not bad people, so I would like to imagine they no longer support him and are embarrassed by his actions. I know they definitely won’t watch the alternative halftime show, but I also really hope they haven’t fallen for the trap and won’t make a bunch of commentary about how they dislike Bad Bunny.”\u2014MagdalenaHey<\/a><\/p>\n

And finally…9. “My dad has never specifically outed himself as MAGA, but his behavior outs him. His response to Bad Bunny was that he’s South American. I told him no. He said then he’s ‘European or something.’ No dad. He’s Puerto Rican. ‘That’s not American,’ my dad tells me. It is American. Puerto Rico is an American territory. He’s American.”<\/p>\n

“My dad goes on to ramble about how in my day, we picked stars people wanted to watch. Not this. ‘Dad, Bad Bunny is a top artist with plenty of recognition.’ My dad promptly excuses himself to go back to work.”\u2014Anonymous<\/p>\n
