As the search for the 84-year-old continues, the Today<\/a> anchor\u2014accompanied by her brother Camron Guthrie and sister Annie Guthrie\u2014shared a response to an apparent communication from her mom\u2019s possible captors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe received your message and we understand,\u201d Savannah said while holding hands with Camron and Annie in a video posted on Instagram<\/a> Feb. 7. \u201cWe beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is very valuable to us,\u201d the 54-year-old continued, \u201cand we will pay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two days earlier, Camron shared that he and his family had not heard from<\/a> Nancy\u2019s possible abductors since she was reported missing on Feb. 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoever is out there holding our mother, we want to hear from you,\u201d he said in an Instagram<\/a> video Feb. 5. \u201cWe haven’t heard anything directly. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 84-year-old was reported missing by her family Feb. 1 after a concerned friend alerted Nancy\u2019s loved ones that she didn\u2019t show up for a church service that morning, police confirmed to Today. After her children searched Nancy\u2019s property for around an hour, they called authorities and reported her missing around noon.<\/p>\n

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos subsequently detailed the initial investigation, which included homicide detectives, at her house. <\/p>\n

“You don’t typically get the sheriff out at a scene like this, but it’s very concerning what we’re learning from the house,” he told reporters in a Feb. 2 press conference. “This one stood out because of what was described to us at the scene and what we found and located just in looking at the scene.”<\/p>\n

“It’s not standard,” Nanos continued. “Typically, our homicide team comes out when we have a homicide, a body. This one was done simply because of what the surveyors were telling us.”<\/p>\n

Nancy Guthrie\u2019s Home Declared a “Crime Scene”\u00a0<\/p>\n

The sheriff cited Nancy\u2019s limited mobility\u2014she “couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself\u201d\u2014a giveaway for concluding that foul play may have been involved in her disappearance.<\/p>\n

“This is an 84-year-old lady who suffers from some physical ailments, has some physical challenges, is in need of medication,” Nanos shared at the Feb. 2 press conference, “medication that if she doesn’t have in 24 hours, it could be fatal.”<\/p>\n

“So, we make a plea to anyone who knows anything about this, who has seen something, heard something, to contact us,” he continued. “Call 911. We don’t need another bad, tragic ending. We need some help.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Nancy\u2019s physical health has been limited for some time, Nanos emphasized that her cognitive abilities are quite strong.<\/p>\n

“Nancy Guthrie is of a great sound mind,” Nanos explained. “This is not dementia-related. She is as sharp as a tack. The family wants everybody to know this isn’t somebody who just wandered off. Her physical limits are based on just age.”<\/p>\n

“Our mom is our heart and our home,” she added. “Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.”<\/p>\n

The next day, Camron confirmed in a separate video<\/a> that the family was still “waiting for contact.”<\/p>\n
