{"id":457230,"date":"2026-02-08T23:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-08T23:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/457230\/"},"modified":"2026-02-08T23:46:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T23:46:08","slug":"full-house-star-dave-coulier-urges-people-to-not-ignore-cancer-warning-signs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/457230\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Full House&#8217; star Dave Coulier urges people to not ignore cancer warning signs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/full-house-star-dave-coulier-confirms-hes-cancer-free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Dave Coulier<\/a>\u00a0credited early cancer detection with saving his life \u2013 twice.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/full-house-star-dave-coulier-battling-second-cancer-diagnosis-within-months-being-declared-cancer-free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u201cFull House\u201d star<\/a>\u00a0told Fox News Digital how routine medical visits helped doctors catch a second cancer early, a moment he now calls life-changing.<\/p>\n<p>Coulier revealed Wednesday that he has entered complete remission after <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/12\/02\/entertainment\/dave-coulier-diagnosed-with-tongue-cancer-after-beating-lymphoma\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">battling two cancer diagnoses<\/a> in the last two years.<\/p>\n<p>The 66-year-old actor insisted paying attention to subtle changes in his body made all the difference in <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/23\/entertainment\/john-stamos-shares-a-health-update-on-full-house-costar-dave-coulier\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">his cancer battle<\/a> while talking about his new business venture \u2013 AWEAR Market. Coulier recalled noticing warning signs he initially could have brushed off, a decision he now urges others not to repeat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cListen to your body. Your body will tell you things,\u201d Coulier said. \u201cAnd my body was telling me something\u2019s going on. I wasn\u2019t feeling right, and I didn\u2019t have a lot of energy. And then I was taking a shower one morning and felt a lump in my groin area. And had I just thought, \u2018Ah, I haven\u2019t been feeling very well. It\u2019s maybe a cold or something. My body is just naturally fighting this off.\u2019 Had I not taken the step to call my doctor, at the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/09\/22\/entertainment\/full-house-actor-dave-couliers-wife-pays-tribute-to-him-after-cancer-battle-youre-still-here\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">urging of my wife, Melissa<\/a> \u2013 she said, \u2018We\u2019re calling now, and making that appointment\u2019 \u2013 things would have been much different. We caught it early.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doctors diagnosed Dave Coulier with HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer in October 2025, a discovery made just months after celebrating his recovery from\u00a0non-Hodgkin lymphoma. dcoulier\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour body will really send you some signals,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I think for a lot of us, we procrastinate, and we say, \u2018Oh, no, let this go and we\u2019ll see how it goes.\u2019 And when you get to that point with cancer \u2013 cancer is working out in the background every day. It\u2019s getting stronger and stronger, and it\u2019s a fight. So you have to be willing to put your pride aside and be a little vulnerable and go in and talk to someone who is an expert and those are your doctors. The TV star opened up about becoming an ambassador for The V Foundation for Cancer Research and the NHL\u2019s Hockey Fights Cancer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s changed my life in a number of ways in that I think I can inspire people to get early detection and get those colonoscopies and prostate exams. And get those mammograms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBelieve me, I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, but I\u2019m willing to carry the flag for everyone and encourage others that this is a disease none of us should have to go through. Early detection can save your life too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coulier said cancer treatment forced him to confront vulnerability in ways he never expected.  Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>While this new role was thrust upon him, Coulier leaned into helping others, launching\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/awearmarket.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">AWEAR Market<\/a>\u00a0in December 2025. The idea for his business came to the actor while he was researching why his lymphatic system crashed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI went down the rabbit hole and I started looking at all the products in my own life and I realized I was surrounded by toxicity,\u201d he explained to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n<p>After becoming a \u201cprofessional label reader,\u201d Coulier noticed everyday home products \u2013 toothpaste, toilet paper, garbage bags, skincare products, clothing \u2013 all contained PFAs, BPAs and microplastics.<\/p>\n<p>But behind the momentum of his new venture was a far more difficult reality. Coulier said cancer treatment forced him to confront vulnerability in ways he never expected. He often felt pressured to stay positive and never wanted to feel like a burden \u2013 even when he lost the ability to get out of bed on his own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re faced with those kinds of challenges, you realize that the people around you are very, very important,\u201d Coulier said. \u201cMy wife Melissa was incredible throughout this whole process. She was there every single day with me and I didn\u2019t want to be a burden on her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I think for a lot of men, it\u2019s very tough to be vulnerable that way, because we consider ourselves the providers for our families. And we want to be a pillar of strength for everyone.
