Manchester United have been credited with an interest in Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali.<\/p>\n

A fresh name has been added to Manchester United\u2019s midfield shortlist<\/a> ahead of the summer, Sandro Tonali.<\/p>\n

Former AC Milan star Tonali has been one of Newcastle\u2019s best players this season, playing in all 25 Premier League games for the club.<\/p>\n

According to The Telegraph<\/a>, Manchester United are showing interest in Tonali, who is concerned about his future with Newcastle unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season.<\/p>\n

Sandro Tonali is said to be \u2018high\u2019 on Manchester United\u2019s shortlist, but he would not come at all cheap.<\/p>\n

Newcastle would demand \u00a3100 million for the Italy international, a fee that seems excessive for a player who has a contract that expires in 2028.<\/p>\n

Tonali cost Newcastle \u00a360 million when he joined in 2023 and they would not be keen to take a loss on the midfielder.<\/p>\n

It is more likely that his eventual fee could be in the \u00a360-70 million range, with Manchester United unwilling to overpay for targets.<\/p>\n

United will have several midfield options available, but Premier League proven players will not come at all cheap.<\/p>\n

Anderson, 23, has also been touted in the \u00a3100 million range<\/a>, a fee that could drop drastically if Forest suffer relegation.<\/p>\n

Newcastle would love to re-sign Anderson after selling him in 2024 to comply with PSR<\/a> issues.<\/p>\n

Their only chance to re-sign Anderson likely depends on player sales, and Manchester United have to be a little careful here with Tonali interest.<\/p>\n

One possibility is that Manchester United pay up early for Tonali, which finances Newcastle\u2019s move for Anderson after the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Newcastle have a pull for Anderson even without Champions League football as they are his boyhood club.<\/p>\n

So this is just something for Ineos to be aware of when it comes to Tonali, ensuring they don\u2019t end up missing on their top choice in the process.<\/p>\n

There is also competition from City for Anderson<\/a>, so it is possible that United miss out and need to look at Tonali as an alternative.<\/p>\n

United are still likely to need more than one midfielder with Casemiro leaving<\/a> and Manuel Ugarte needing upgrading<\/a>, so don\u2019t rule out the possibility of a double move for Anderson and Tonali.<\/p>\n
