{"id":457954,"date":"2026-02-09T09:07:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T09:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/457954\/"},"modified":"2026-02-09T09:07:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T09:07:07","slug":"drake-maye-received-painkilling-injection-in-shoulder-before-super-bowl-lx","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/457954\/","title":{"rendered":"Drake Maye received painkilling injection in shoulder before Super Bowl LX"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had a rough go of it during Sunday\u2019s loss to the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. <\/p>\n<p>While much was made of the shoulder injury Maye suffered during the AFC Championship Game, the quarterback maintained over the last couple of weeks that he would be fine for the ultimate game of the season. <\/p>\n<p>Maye, however, did need some treatment for Sunday. <\/p>\n<p>Via Mark Daniels of MassLive.com, Maye told reporters postgame that he received a <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ByMarkDaniels\/status\/2020707687340916798?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">painkilling shot in his right shoulder<\/a> before the contest. However, Maye did not say that the injury limited him. <\/p>\n<p>Maye finished Super Bowl LX 27-of-43 for 295 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He also lost a fumble for three total giveaways.<\/p>\n<p>Even if Maye was limited by his shoulder injury, it likely did not affect much of the game\u2019s outcome.
