EXCLUSIVE \u2014 The Social Security Administration announced Monday it has crossed a major \u201cmilestone\u201d in its transformation toward digital accessibility.<\/p>\n
The agency informed the Washington Examiner that more than 100 million United States residents have created their my Social Security accounts<\/a>, paving the way for these users to have readily available service.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThis milestone underscores what we are working toward at SSA: providing convenient and best-in-class customer service that meets people where they are, whether it is online with my Social Security, on the phone, or in person at local field offices,\u201d said Commissioner Frank J. Bisignano.<\/p>\n Using a\u00a0My\u00a0Social Security account allows users to access SSA\u2019s services at\u00a0any time of day, regardless of whether they are currently receiving SSA benefits. They can also manage their current benefits and estimate their future benefits.\u00a0<\/p>\n The SSA also highlighted how users can access a summary of their earnings, a tool that is timely as tax season quickly approaches.<\/p>\n In December, the SSA released a report confirming the agency\u2019s improvements in customer service<\/a>, including an average wait time of seven minutes. The agency\u2019s first round of February\u2019s Social Security payments will go out in two days and will be worth up to $5,108<\/a>.<\/p>\n
