MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 Whale watchers in Monterey Bay were treated to a rare encounter last week.<\/p>\n

A sperm whale was spotted on Thursday morning, as well as four gray whales and 5 Dall’s porpoise. <\/p>\n

Then, on Friday, there were three different species of dolphins, humpbacks, and more gray whales.<\/p>\n

The sightings were aboard the Monterey Bay Whale Watch tour.<\/p>\n

They said the sperm whale that was spotted is the same male they encountered several times, including twice last year in June and again on Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

We have been hearing sperm whale clicking vocalizations on the MBARI hydrophone off and one for a week or two now, so it was such a treat to observe this special individual once again.Comment with Bubbles<\/p>\n
