Hey, Ratner, get your own music! Director Paul Thomas Anderson and composer Jonny Greenwood, his frequent collaborator, issued a statement today decrying the Melania<\/a> documentary\u2019s use of the score from their movie Phantom Thread<\/a>. \u201cIt has come to our attention that a piece of music from Phantom Thread has been used in the Melania documentary,\u201d the statement, shared with Vulture, reads. \u201cWhile Jonny Greenwood does not own the copyright in the score, Universal failed to consult Jonny on this third-party use which is a breach of his composer agreement. As a result Jonny and Paul Thomas Anderson have asked for it to be removed from the documentary.\u201d The composer of the Melania score, Tony Neiman, has yet to comment.<\/p>\n

Luckily for Anderson and Greenwood, not very many people have seen the Brett Ratner\u2013directed doc. The movie has made $13.35 million worldwide<\/a>, which is pretty good for a documentary but far less than the reported $75 million studio Amazon paid to acquire and market the film. In comparison, Phantom Thread made $52.2 million. Plus, the Trumps have none of Alma and Reynolds Woodcock\u2019s haunting yet torrid psychosexual appeal.<\/p>\n
