Charlie Woods is nearly all grown up. <\/p>\n

Woods, the teenage son of 15-time major champion Tiger Woods, verbally committed to play golf at Florida State University on Tuesday. Still a junior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, he will be a member of the Seminoles\u2019 2027 recruiting class. <\/p>\n

According to Front Office Sports<\/a>, Woods is expected to be the most marketable college golfer ever and numerous NIL opportunities are expected to be available. <\/p>\n

Woods is ranked No. 21 in the Rolex American Junior Golf Association rankings after winning the Team TaylorMade Invitational with a 54-hole total of 15-under 201 last May. <\/p>\n

Woods also helped The Benjamin School capture a Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state title in November, carding a 4-under 68 in the final round.<\/p>\n

The commitment means he will play on the opposite coast from his father, who spent two seasons at Stanford before turning pro in August 1996.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been very different, the recruiting process,\u201d Tiger Woods said at the Hero World Challenge in December. \u201cNow, you have cellphones. We didn\u2019t have cellphones. We would have written letters that would show up in the mailbox. It\u2019s just very different how fast coaches can communicate with the family members and the player that they\u2019re trying to recruit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a different world. Not saying it\u2019s good or bad, it\u2019s just different.\u201d<\/p>\n

Florida State has a long golf tradition but has emerged as a contender in recent years.
