Bow Elementary School’s principal was struck by a vehicle in the school parking lot Wednesday morning, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers responded to the school around 9:50 a.m.<\/p>\n

Police said the principal was struck while assisting with parking lot traffic near the start of the school day, which was delayed Wednesday morning because of the snow. <\/p>\n

The principal was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said. <\/p>\n

Police said the driver was identified as a parent dropping off a child at the school.<\/p>\n

“If you’re dropping off your kid at school, drive slow and you got to pay close attention,” said Lt. Matthew Pratte of the Bow Police Department. “There’s a lot of things going on. A lot of cars moving, a lot of people directing traffic. So, you just got to really pay close attention.”<\/p>\n

The superintendent said the district is working with Bow police to review procedures and ensure safety measures are in place.<\/p>\n
