\n\tBig news for \u201cDiablo<\/a> II\u201d fans: the Blizzard Entertainment<\/a> game is getting its first major update in 25 years.<\/p>\n

\n\tTitled \u201cReign of the Warlock,\u201d the DLC will feature actor Rahul\u00a0Kohli (\u201cThe Haunting of Bly Manor,\u201d \u201cMidnight Mass,\u201d \u201ciZombie\u201d) starring as the voice of the titular Warlock. Per Blizzard, \u201cthe Warlock is disciplined, ominous, and incredibly knowledgeable, lingering in the shadows for years and studying secrets mortals shouldn\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to debuting in the new update for \u201cDiablo II<\/a>: Resurrected\u201d (which is the remastered version of the original \u201cDiablo II\u201d), the Warlock class will arrive in the upcoming \u201cDiablo IV: Lord of Hatred\u201d update in April and the mobile title \u201cDiablo Immortal\u201d this summer.<\/p>\n

\n\tThese announcements were made by Blizzard Entertainment on Wednesday as part of a showcase teasing multiple ways the Microsoft-owned \u201cDiablo\u201d franchise will be marking its 30th anniversary this year leading up to more reveals at BlizzCon in September.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cReign of the Warlock\u201d launches Wednesday in \u201cDiablo II: Resurrected\u201d across Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. \u201cDiablo Immortal\u2019s\u201d Warlock-focused update, \u201cAndariel Rises,\u201d will debut this summer. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cDiablo IV\u201d update \u201cLord of Hatred\u201d arrives April 28 on Battle.net, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, and more information about how the Warlock will be worked into that DLC will be revealed in a developer update event on March 5 at 11 a.m. PT.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis actually just came out of the blue,\u201d Kohli told Variety in an interview ahead of the official announcement. \u201cI received a text message from Rod Fergusson, who said, \u2018Do you not want to do Diablo?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018What are you talking about?\u2019 And he was like, \u2018We haven\u2019t heard back.\u2019 I went to my team and I was like, \u2018What\u2019s going on? Diablo?\u2019 And they basically forwarded this offer, and in the email heading it said \u2018Diablo II,\u2019 which I thought was a typo, an error. It\u2019s probably \u2018Diablo IV\u2019 they mean.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKohli continued: \u201cBecause I also had worked with Rod previously on \u2018Gears of War,\u2019 I sort of assumed at some point \u2018Diablo IV\u2019 would come knocking, and it never did. So I sort of resented him for that. And then when that came through, and it was \u2018Diablo II,\u2019 obviously, I thought it was a typo. But then once I looked through the character profile, I realized, \u2018Oh, this is new content for a game that came out in the year 2000.\u2019 Obviously, it\u2019s for the remaster, but it\u2019s still new content for a 26-year-old game. So I was very hyped.\u201d<\/p>\n
