Crystal Sorey filed the lawsuit Monday against Adam Montgomery on behalf of Harmony’s estate, seeking compensation for the 5-year-old’s death.<\/p>\n
Montgomery was convicted in 2024 of second-degree murder and sentenced to 45 years to life in prison. He is currently incarcerated in Virginia. <\/p>\n

It goes on to say that Montgomery is responsible for compensation for Harmony’s death, along with the pain and suffering she endured during her life, as well as any lost income she might have earned had she survived. <\/p>\n Sorey has also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the state of New Hampshire, including the state Department of Health and Human Services and the state Division for Children, Youth and Families. <\/p>\n “Based on his conviction in the criminal case for murdering Harmony, it seems like there’s a good likelihood that Crystal will get the judgement she’s looking for, will get an award of monetary damages that she’s looking for. However, the award is nothing more than a piece of paper and doesn’t mean much unless Adam has assets that Crystal can collect from,” said Jesse O’Neill, former senior assistant attorney general.<\/p>\n News 9 reached out to Sorey, who said she had no comment on the lawsuit.<\/p>\n
