You might not know too much about Philadelphia 76ers rookie shooting guard VJ Edgecombe, whom the team selected with the third overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Baylor University.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But if there’s one thing you should know about the Bahamas native, it’s one that might come as a shock to some.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He does\u00a0not\u00a0like college basketball. In fact, he\u00a0hates\u00a0it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But considering that he played with professionals on a national team back home in the Bahamas, perhaps the sudden transition from pros to prospects can understandably be a tad frustrating.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Regardless, the rookie was very vocal about his opinion of college hoops while on “Podcast P” with his new teammate<\/a> Paul George.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cCollege, though? I hated college basketball, personally. Some people love it, but I don\u2019t,” the former Bear said. “Because I was also dealing with two centers, two bigs, sitting in the paint. I\u2019m trying to get to the cup, and it was bad. I\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, I got no space to operate.\u2019 And then you can sit in the paint, you know what I\u2019m saying? There\u2019s no three-second rule. Nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though his heart may have not been fully out on the hardwood with him during his tenure in Waco, his skill surely showed that he was worthy of his high draft selection, averaging 15 points, six rebounds, and drilling 34 percent of his shots beyond the three-point arc.\u00a0<\/p>\n
