Senior point guard Olivia Miles has lived up to expectations in her first (and only) year at TCU. The 23-year-old transfer from Notre Dame poured in a career-high 40 points for the No. 17 Horned Frogs as they upset Big 12 rivals No. 17 Baylor on Thursday, 83-67.<\/p>\n
Miles caused quite a stir when she transferred, spurning a chance <\/a>at becoming a top-five pick in the 2025 WNBA<\/a> Draft for one more season of college basketball. She’ll once again enter the 2026 draft with a chance to go early.<\/p>\n Miles’s<\/a> 40 points came on 10 three-pointers, also a career best. I didn\u2019t have that confidence, I didn\u2019t have that self-belief. What a special win for our team.\u201d<\/p>\n Olivia Miles was simply unguardable on Thursday against Baylor(Image: Getty Images)<\/p>\n Miles entered the day averaging 19.7 points a game on 51% shooting to go along with 6.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Last week, she captured her third Big 12 Player of the Week Award. She was named to both the Wooden Award 20-player watch list and was in the top 10 for the Nancy Liberman Award (best point guard in the country).<\/p>\n At Notre Dame, Miles was a two-time Second-team All-American and a three-time First-team All-ACC pick as part of the dominant regular season Fighting Irish team that couldn’t get over the hump in the postseason.<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n Last season, TCU reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010. Led by Hailey Van Lith, the Horned Frogs reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.<\/p>\n Head coach Mark Campbell returned a team that lost many key players. It was two elite basketball teams going to battle in February, where these games meant a lot. I couldn\u2019t be more proud of my team and the performance they gave.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been growing as a team and trying to put together 40 minutes,\u201d Campbell added. \u201cWe\u2019ve been so dang close for a long time. We lost a couple really close games, but as a group we\u2019ve been saying we\u2019re just 1% away from winning every one of these games. Credit to the team for working and showing up and grinding.
