(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsfa.com\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"http:\/\/www.wsfa.com\">WSFA<\/a>) &#8211; A Prattville native is getting her moment in the spotlight this season on ABC\u2019s \u201cAmerican Idol.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Lainey Grace auditioned for the show last June with little expectation of advancing past the initial producer rounds. Four months later, in October, she received life-changing news: she would perform in front of the show\u2019s judging panel of Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While Grace didn\u2019t receive the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood, the experience has proven invaluable in launching her music career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">One of the most memorable moments of Grace\u2019s audition came when she met the artist behind the song she performed: singer-songwriter Kyndal Inskeep, who wrote the original track.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIt was such an amazing moment. I was really shocked. I didn\u2019t know that it was going to happen,\u201d Lainey Grace said of the surprise meeting. \u201cJust being able to sing it with her was a really special moment and a really close moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">That connection has led to tangible opportunities. Grace is now working with Inskeep on future performances and collaborations, expanding her network within the music industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI\u2019m going to be singing in shows with her, which we\u2019ve kind of started working out, and I\u2019m going to be able to get plugged in through her,\u201d Grace said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Though she didn\u2019t advance on \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d Grace emphasized that the experience has opened numerous professional doors and helped her build meaningful relationships within the music industry; opportunities that may prove more valuable than a competition win.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Viewers can catch Lainey Grace\u2019s \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d performance on the current season, which streams on Hulu and Disney+.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Not reading this story on the WSFA News App?
