Long before wedding bells rang for either of them,\u00a0Jessica Simpson\u00a0once joked about marrying NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. in a dream.<\/p>\n
During a candid conversation about the early days of her relationship with the sports legend, Amy Earnhardt joked that the\u00a0pop star\u00a0\u201ctried to fish my man.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s 2008, maybe [2009]. We had just started dating, and I think I\u2019m still living in Jacksonville, but I come up to Daytona to hang out with Dale. And I hear that Jessica Simpson\u2019s at the racetrack. We\u2019re the same age. We both came from Texas, so I\u2019ve always kind of been a fan of hers,\u201d Amy recalled on her\u00a0\u201cBless Your \u2018Hardt\u201d podcast.<\/a><\/p>\n At the time, she said she was excited about the possibility of meeting the \u201cI Wanna Love You Forever\u201d singer.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I\u2019m like, \u2018Hey, Dale, do you think that you could get Jessica Simpson to come to the bus so I could meet her?\u2019 And he\u2019s like, \u2018I don\u2019t think that\u2019d be a really good idea.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Why not?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd he shows me this clip \u2026 of her doing an interview earlier that day, how she had had a dream that she and Dale Jr. got married in a treehouse.\u201d<\/p>\n Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Amy, and their children before a NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sept. 20, 2024. It\u2019s a good idea,\u201d Amy joked as Dale laughed.<\/p>\n She added that the moment left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t bought a Jessica Simpson shoe or a bag \u2014 you know, how she\u2019s got all the things \u2014 ever since then. I was like, she was f\u2014ing trying to fish my man \u2026 Yes, she was.
