With the Pro Max\u2019s new vapor chamber, Apple picked alloy for heat dissipation over just raw tensile strength. This alloy, however, renders the iPhone 17 Pro Max much more susceptible to damage than the base iPhone 17 variant, which uses a 6000-series aluminum alloy.  <\/p>\n<p>This comes as we reported a few months back that the alloy used within the frame of the iPhone 17 Pro Max renders the phone <a href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/iphone-17-pro-max-aluminum-vs-galaxy-s25-ultra-titanium-alloy-six-drop-tests\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">vulnerable to corner impacts<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, the iPhone 17 Pro Max features <a href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/apple-makes-sure-you-suitably-appreciate-the-iphone-17-pros-new-vapor-chamber\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a laser-welded aluminum chamber<\/a> that contains deionized water, which absorbs heat from the components and turns into vapor, effectively cooling down the critical components in close proximity. The vapor then moves away from the heat source, cools by transferring heat to the outer frame, and turns back into liquid water. The cycle continues to repeat.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<a id=\"bizdev_mid_desktop_link\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"noskim d-none d-lg-block\" href=\"\" rel=\"sponsored\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"bizdev_mid_desktop_image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/placeholder-desktop.png\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Even so, given the apex iPhone 17 variant&#8217;s powerful A20 Pro chip, Apple chose to use an aluminum alloy with <a href=\"https:\/\/wccftech.com\/a19-pro-vs-a18-pro-vs-a17-pro-aaa-gaming-performance-comparison-up-to-69-percent-framerate-improvement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an improved heat dissipation profile<\/a> to prevent thermal throttling issues.
