Dans Locmelis\u2019<\/a> breakout day helped give Latvia a huge win in its second game of the Olympics.<\/p>\n

The Bruins<\/a> prospect<\/a>, who starred at UMass<\/a> before turning pro, had two goals as Latvia surprised Germany, 4-3, on Saturday in Italy.<\/p>\n

Locmelis scored two goals on the power play against a German team that features NHL stars Leon Draisaitl and Tim Stultzle.<\/p>\n

Locmelis, 21, who is in his first full professional season, had 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in 30 games for the Providence Bruins before the Olympics <\/p>\n

The fourth round pick has been a regular for Latvia in the World Championships<\/a> in 2023, 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n
