During a Feb. 10 appearance on Sirius XM\u2019s Andy Cohen Live<\/a>, the actress shared that she was not invited to the Hollywood premiere of her breakout movie, Desperately Seeking Susan.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile [Madonna] became so huge, they decided to make the movie around her. Which of course, made sense to make money, right?\u201d the 66-year-old actress told Cohen. \u201cBut, they didn\u2019t invite me to the Hollywood premiere of Desperately Seeking Susan.\u201d<\/p>\n Mondadori via Getty <\/p>\n The 1985 comedy followed a bored New Jersey housewife who becomes fascinated with a free-spirited woman named Susan after reading personal ads. Arquette played Roberta, whose obsession leads her into a case of mistaken identity and a whirlwind adventure through New York City.<\/p>\n Madonna<\/a>, then on the brink of global superstardom, portrayed the magnetic and mysterious Susan<\/a>. As the singer\u2019s reputation exploded, the film\u2019s marketing increasingly centered around her.<\/p>\n Arquette recalled that she was in New York at the time, handling promotional duties, when she realized she hadn\u2019t been invited to the premiere of her own movie.<\/p>\n \u201cI was here in New York doing this. Like, press… And so I was like \u2018what?\u2019 \u201d the actress recalled on the podcast. \u201cThat was weird… It was very strange. But then you find out why that happened, the management… they made a thing about it because it ended up being [her movie].”<\/p>\n Despite the awkward moment, Arquette\u2019s performance earned critical acclaim, including a British Academy Film Award for best actress in a supporting role.<\/p>\n Gary Gershoff\/Getty<\/p>\n Now, decades later, Arquette finds herself in a new chapter. Known as the eldest member of the famous Arquette family \u2013 she is known for memorable roles in films like Pulp Fiction and for inspiring the title of Toto\u2019s hit song, \u201cRosanna.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n At 66, however, Arquette says her focus has shifted toward personal growth.
