Chelsea are reportedly set to offer Marc Cucurella a new contract following recent speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

Chelsea<\/a> are reportedly prepared to offer left-back Marc Cucurella<\/a> a new contract following the recent speculation over his future.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr<\/a> have unveiled Joao Felix<\/a> as the latest member of their squad after they reached an agreement with Chelsea<\/a> over a deal worth an initial \u00a325.3m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Saudi Pro League club has also been linked with a move for Cucurella<\/a>, as they look to bolster a squad that contains the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo<\/a> and Sadio Mane<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Chelsea have made it clear that they have no plans to sell<\/a> the Spain international during the current window.<\/p>\n

Chelsea preparing Cucurella contract offer<\/p>\n

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano,<\/a> Chelsea will attempt to ward off any transfer interest by offering Cucurella a new contract.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old still has three years left to run on his current deal, but he now looks set to be given the chance to commit his long-term future to the club.<\/p>\n

The update claims that the Blues ‘plan to offer’ Cucurella a new contract to recognise his status as a ‘key part’ of Enzo Maresca<\/a>‘s squad.<\/p>\n

Chelsea are working on a new deal to recruit versatile Ajax defender Jorrel Hato<\/a>, but he is not seen as a replacement for Cucurella.<\/p>\n

Instead, Hato will provide cover for the Spaniard and will also compete for one of the two centre-back spots in Maresca’s starting lineup.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cucurella’s importance to Chelsea<\/p>\n

Cucurella struggled to find his best form when he joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in August 2022.<\/p>\n

However, he has since established himself as a regular fixture in the Chelsea side and has built a reputation as one of Europe’s top left-backs with his performances for club and country.<\/p>\n

Cucurella racked up 54 competitive appearances during the 2024-25 campaign, contributing seven goals and four assists.<\/p>\n

The former Getafe man helped the West London club win the Conference League and the Club World Cup in Maresca’s first season in charge.\u00a0<\/p>\n
