More than a month after Spencer, 42, announced that he is running for L.A. mayor<\/a>, his younger sister Stephanie, 39, spoke out against his mayoral bid in a series of posts on X. In the posts shared on Saturday, Feb. 14, she claimed that her brother \u2014 with whom she has long had a strained relationship<\/a> \u2014 is only running in an attempt to “stay famous.”<\/p>\n Stephanie also made several allegations against him while giving \u201ca history of Spencer,\u201d claiming that her older brother \u201cbeat\u201d her, got her \u201chooked\u201d on drugs during her teen years and was once in a cult. She also made reference to Spencer and Lauren Conrad<\/a>\u2019s infamous feud on The Hills.<\/p>\n A representative for Spencer Pratt did not immediately respond to PEOPLE\u2019s request for comment on Saturday, Feb. 1 4.<\/p>\n Spencer Pratt\/Instagram<\/p>\n \u201cSpencer has done great work for the palisades,\u201d Stephanie wrote on X<\/a>. (Spencer and his wife, Heidi Montag<\/a>, filed a lawsuit against the city of L.A.<\/a> after their home was destroyed<\/a> in the Pacific Palisades fire<\/a>.)<\/p>\n \u201cBut LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor,\u201d she continued of The Hills alum. \u201cA vote for him is a vote for stupidity.\u201d<\/p>\n In two of several subsequent X posts, Stephanie wrote that \u201cin an ideal world the palisades would have their own mayor and police department,\u201d and said that she \u201cwould love him [Spencer] to be\u201d in charge of the neighborhood, but not the entire city.<\/p>\n \u201cI have no problem with Spencer playing government but our city needs help,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n Stephanie also claimed that her brother is \u201cjust trying to stay famous and sell his memoir,\u201d referring to January’s The Guy You Loved to Hate: Confessions from a Reality TV Villain<\/a>.<\/p>\n After her posts urging people not to vote for Spencer inspired backlash, Stephanie also shared allegations of an alleged assault that occurred when she was 18, writing: \u201cEveryone saying I should support him no matter what. Sorry he beat me up when I was 18 & put me in the hospital. So no he doesn\u2019t belong in the government. Run the palisades all you want not LA.\u201d<\/p>\n She also alleged that he got her \u201chooked\u201d on drugs. \u201cAlmost forgot how it all started – he\u2019s the one who got me hooked on hard core drugs at 15,\u201d she claimed on X. \u201cI\u2019ve kept this all a secret for years. He also had a hidden drug addiction. Now do you get he shouldn\u2019t be running LA. Thank you. It is not clear if he was ever charged or faced court following the arrest.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd yes fact – I will always be on team Lauren Conrad,\u201d Stephanie also wrote of her brother\u2019s former Hills costar, with whom he famously feuded. \u201cThose two spent years trying to destroy her life for magazine covers. I always side with the vulnerable who need help not the people inflicting pain on others.\u201d<\/p>\n “Leopards never change their spots,\u201d she said of her brother. “Stay in the palisades Spencer.”<\/p>\n In a final post, Stephanie said she did not share her posts to put the spotlight on herself.<\/p>\n \u201cI have no interest in fame, I\u2019m taking a course to become a [Registered Behavior Technician] RBT my passion is helping children and adults with autism,\u201d she wrote on X<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t even use instagram. I\u2019m serious about my new career helping people.\u201d<\/p>\n Stephanie’s latest posts are not the first time she has targeted Spencer on social media, as she has long had a fractured relationship with both her brother and his wife Montag<\/a>, 39.
