\n\tAs Donald Trump<\/a> continues to shrug responsibility for an AI-generated video posted to his Truth Social account of the Obamas depicted as apes<\/a>, Barack Obama<\/a> has responded.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 44th president chalked up the clip, as well as recent rhetoric around Ren\u00e9e Good and Alex Pretti, to the public \u201cclown show\u201d of social media and the lost sense of \u201cdecorum\u201d and \u201crespect\u201d for the office, after Trump blamed the post on a staffer<\/a> whom he said has not been fired<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFirst of all, I think it\u2019s important to recognize that a majority of the American people find this behavior deeply troubling,\u201d Obama told Brian Tyler Cohen in a recent interview<\/a>. \u201cIt is true that it gets attention. It\u2019s true that it\u2019s a distraction. But as I\u2019m traveling around the country, as you\u2019re traveling around the country, you meet people, they still believe in decency, courtesy, kindness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tObama continued, \u201cAnd there\u2019s this sort of clown show that\u2019s happening in social media and on television, and what is true is that there doesn\u2019t seem to be any shame about this among people who used to feel like you had to have some sort of decorum and a sense of propriety and respect for the office. So, that\u2019s been lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKaroline Leavitt previously slammed the public reaction to the video as \u201cfake outrage<\/a>,\u201d defending it as a Lion King parody. Despite her defense, the video was taken down<\/a> shortly after. \u201cA White House staffer erroneously made the post. It has been taken down,\u201d a rep claimed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter refusing to apologize<\/a> since he \u201cdidn\u2019t make a mistake,\u201d Trump doubled down this week and said no staffe<\/a>r<\/a> has been fired<\/a> over the post.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThat was a video on, as you know, voter fraud,\u201d said the POTUS, noting it was \u201ca fairly long video that had a little piece that had to do with The Lion King.
