\n\tDonald Trump<\/a> is firing back against Bill Maher<\/a>, seemingly after he shared some critics of the president on Friday\u2019s episode of Real Time. <\/p>\n

\n\tTrump took to Truth Social<\/a> Saturday to claim that he wasted time having dinner<\/a> with the television host at the end of March 2025. He specifically referenced a moment during Maher\u2019s most recent show where he slammed the president for his Monday post<\/a> where he argued that China will \u201cterminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSometimes in life you waste time! T.V. Host Bill Maher asked to have dinner with me through one of his friends, also a friend of mine, and I agreed. He came into the famed Oval Office much different than I thought he would be,\u201d Trump began in his new post. \u201cHe was extremely nervous, had ZERO confidence in himself and, to soothe his nerves, immediately, within seconds, asked for a \u2018Vodka Tonic.\u2019 He said to me, \u2018I\u2019ve never felt like this before, I\u2019m actually scared.\u2019 In one respect, it was somewhat endearing!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cAnyway, we had a great dinner, it was quick, easy, and he seemed to be a nice guy and, for his first show after our dinner, he was very respectful about our meeting \u2014 But with everything I have done in bringing our Country back from \u2018OBLIVION,\u2019 why wouldn\u2019t he be?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe president critiqued Maher\u2019s Real Time for \u201cdevolv[ing] into the same old story \u2014 Very boring, ANTI TRUMP,\u201d continuing to reference comments made by the host about his earlier comments about China terminating ice hockey in Canada during the Feb. 13 broadcast. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI jokingly stated in a TRUTH that, \u2018The first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup.\u2019 Well, he went on and on about the Hockey statement, like \u2018What kind of a person would say such a foolish thing as this,\u2019 as though I were being serious when I said it,\u201d Trump wrote, continuing by comparing him to fellow late night hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert, all of whom he\u2019s been vocally critical<\/a> of. <\/p>\n

\n\tTrump wrote, \u201cFortunately, his Television Ratings are so low that nobody will learn about his various Fake News statements about me. He is no different than Kimmel, Fallon, or Colbert but, I must admit, slightly more talented!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMaher recounted his meeting with the president<\/a> last year during the April 11 episode of Real Time, where he noted that Trump was \u201cgracious and measured,\u201d and not like the \u201cperson who plays a crazy person on TV.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe guy I met is not the person who the night before the dinner shit tweeted a bunch of nasty crap about how he thought this was a bad idea and what a deranged asshole I was,\u201d Maher continued during his monologue. \u201cI read it and thought, \u2018Oh, what a lovely way to welcome someone to your house.\u2019 But when I got there, that guy wasn\u2019t living there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe visit was much-discussed at the time, with some critiquing the Club Random podcast host\u2019s shifting perspective on Trump. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou can hate me for it, but I\u2019m not a liar,\u201d Maher added. \u201cTrump was gracious and measured and why he isn\u2019t that in other settings, I don\u2019t know and I can\u2019t answer, and it\u2019s not my place to answer. I\u2019m just telling you what I saw and I wasn\u2019t high.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of Trump\u2019s latest Truth Social post about Maher, he concluded, \u201cMaher asked me if he could come back to the White House again and, with his friend, also asked to come to the wonderful White House Christmas Party, but he didn\u2019t. Regardless, I\u2019d much rather spend my time MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN than wasting it on him.
